The Audi S6 is a 227 hp turbocharged inline 5 cylinder 2.2l powered awd four door sedan (or wagon). These models were the first in the S-series to hit the us shores in the early 90's. This is the performance version of the A6. Also referred to as the UrS4/6 (Ur for original/early). The S4 was produced from 92-94 and the S6 from 1995 to 1995.5 and were for the most part identical cars. Compared to the ordinary A6 the S4/6 has the performance 5 cylinder turbocharged and intercooled engine (originating in the S1 rally car), lower performance springs, wider tires, wider front fender, standard awd, 5 speed transmission, and a host of other luxury and performance details in addition to coming loaded with every option. The inline 5 cylinder engine is basically a de-tuned version of the original 470 hp Sport Quattro S1 engine. These engines are very robust and can produce upwards of 400 hp (crank) with no internal modifications. There is a very strong support community for these cars (quattroworld.com, audiworld.com, audifans.com, etc.). Parts are readily available (new and used) and relatively cheap. Although it is a sophisticated car with turbocharging and awd it is still quite easy to work on considering it was produced just before audi and other manufacturers started to develop their packaging to make service much more complicated. The engine bay has plenty of room to access components. Modifications:-MRC stage II chip (~275 hp, FAST!)-EFI Express coil kit-H&R sport lowering springs (-1.5", perfect ride height, should have been this way from factory, not too low)-Bilstein sport shocks-Igor camber plates-3-point Sport wheel & shift knob-boost gauge-clear corner signals-Stainlss Steel braided brake lines Maintenance in past 20k miles:-Entirely New suspension-front & rear subframe & sway bar bushings-motor & transmission mounts-all new wheel bearings-front outer CV joints-front ball joints-rear transverse links-Timing belt-Water pump-Thermostat-coolant temp sensor-coolant tank-Front seals-steering pump-All high pressure hoses rebuilt (pwr steering & j-hose)-brake bomb-hydraulic filter screen-clutch slave cylinder-spark plugs (Bosch F5DPOR)-after run pump-valve cover gasket-SS brake lines w/blue race ATE fluid-MAF-turbo inlet hose-2watt dash bulb upgrade-temp display bulb-ignition switch-nice condition center ecru arm rest-climate control button R&R-trunk struts-battery.
