My Ride - Page 1

This is a very rare 1981 Mark I Toyota Supra. It had 77935 original miles on the Odometer when I got it. Its the last year Toyota produced this model. I found it and bought it from the original owner, have got it running. It has the straight 6 5ME engine and the 5 speed W50. It has all the factory options like aluminum 14 inch wheels, cruise control, tilt steering, power windows and door locks, digital clock, map light on the center console, retractable sun roof, rear hatch sun shade, mud flaps and a cassette player with an equalizer. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter, and added an inline filter since it would be 10 times easier to replace later, installed a new battery, got the flat fixed, did an oil change new windshield wipers and have been driving it since. It sat for 3 years before. So i have checked the spark plugs the cap and rotor and the coolant fluids. The car is running real nice and looks great too. It has newish tires. they were brand new 4 years ago, so they have lots of tread left, and no cracking or uneven wear. The interior is red leather; the front seats are a bit worn and will need to be recovered. The stereo doesn't work; it’s probably just an old wiring issue. The previous owner and I are non-smokers so it’s okay in that respect also. Here are some other interesting facts: In this year the Supra received an engine upgrade in displacement with the 2,759 cc (2.759 L; 168.4 cu in) 5M-E engine. It is still a 12-valve SOHC engine, but makes 116 hp (87 kW) and 145 lb·ft (197 N·m) of torque. This was the final year of the Mark I Supra; it achieved a 0-60 mph time of 10.24 seconds and finished the 1/4 mile in 19.5 seconds at 77.7 mph (125.0 km/h). 2JZ no shit!
