BODY: All steel 2 door 1966 Chevelle Malibu VIN Code 136. All original parts with correct Malibu trim. Could easily be a Super Sport clone with a few SS emblems. No major rust. The paint is about 12 years old but still looks good. It has been garaged and covered when not being raced or driven. Will need new paint if you want a show car, but for a race car it does just fine. I have 2 hoods for it. The original Malibu hood on it in the pictures or a yellow steel hood with a Pro Stock hood scoop- your choice. All the glass is original with no cracks, just the normal fading. I just spent $700.00 on new Mickey Thompson E.T. Street drag radials 275/50/15 and 4 new Drag Star type wheels.
ENGINE / DRIVE TRAIN: Engine is a 60 over 396 Mark IV big block displacing 409 cubic inches. It is a standard deck 2 bolt main block with a stock steel crank. It has forged pistons with 10.5 to 1 compression. I run racing gas in it. The heads are cast iron oval port with big exhaust valves. Holley Tarantula intake with Holley 3310 780 cfm carb with vacuum secondarys. Ceramic coated big tube headers with Magnaflow mufflers and turn downs. Sounds really good. It does not smoke and runs strong. It will need freshened before to long but it still runs good. It has a Comp Cams Magnun hydraulic cam and lifters. All aluminum radiator and chrome water pump. Runs cool even in the heat. Fabricated valve covers with breathers. Transmission is a 400 Turbo with a shift kit and high stall converter. The speedometer is disconnected so I have no clue of the actual mileage. It has a trans brake but it's not hooked up. Reverse pattern with a manual automatic. Hurst Quarter Stick shifter. Rear end is the original 10 Bolt with a spool. Reinforced trailing arms. I have the original spider gears if you want to unlock the rear end. Southside Machine traction bars and air shocks in rear. 90/10 drag shocks on the front. Drum brakes and stock coil springs all around.
INTERIOR / ELECTRICAL: The original bench seat has been replaced with a pair of black poly racing seats with black covers. Each seat has a 3 -point racing harness, lap and crotch, instead of the 45 year old lap belt. The back seat is original with new black seat covers and the original lap belts. The carpet, door panels front and rear, and headliner have all been replaced and are in good shape. It was originally an Air Conditioning car and the dash is original but the controls and ducting have been removed. No radio, but there are 2 speakers in the package tray in the back window. Windshield wipers have been unhooked but I have a reman. wiper motor if you want to hook them up. Ignition is supplied by a Crane Fireball MSD style system and a reworked HEI distributor. Moroso racing plug wires. It has a one wire alternator with a big pulley. The battery has been moved to the trunk and has the NHRA mandated electrical shut-off on the rear panel. Fuel is supplied by a Holley blue pump plumbed in to the stock fuel tank. There is a NHRA mandated fuel shut off switch on the dash. Guages on dash for oil pressure and temp. The tach needs replaced. The running lights, turn signals, brake lights, and dome light work and are original.
